The village community of Betws y Coed has a population of 564 and lies in the Snowdonia National Park. The Betws y Coed railway station lies on the Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog run, operated by Arriva Trains Wales.
The railway station is also a bus interchange used by the snowdonia National Park sherpa bus services to Capel curig, Pen-y-Gwyrd, Pen-y-Pass, Beddgelert, Porthmadog, Tryfan and Bethesda.
