The small town of Llanrwst lies thirteen miles outside of Conwy on the A470 road. In the 2011 Census 61% of the population of 3,323 were Welsh speaking. A small number of industrial units are based on the outskirts of the town on the Parc Ty Gwyn estate.
The community council contains the wards of Crwst and Gower.
There are a number of small independent shops and cafes in the town centre and a weekly market is held in the town square,
There are two railway stations in the town on the Conwy Valley Line from Llandudno Junction to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
