New Legal Requirements for Landlords and Agents in Wales
From autumn 2015 new legal requirements for landlords and agents in Wales will be introduced. Under part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 all private landlords and agents will have to be registered and licensed.
This will mean that all private landlords with rental property within Wales will have to register themselves and the addresses of their rental properties in Wales. Any agent acting on behalf of a landlord will also have to be licenced. Licencing training will be provided through Rent Smart Wales and Rent Smart Wales approved courses.
