North Wales Housing

North Wales Housing was formed in 1974, and is a modern, dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people in need across North Wales. We are committed to providing homes people love to live in, and to supporting communities people love to be part of.

We have homes in communities all along the North Wales coast from Towyn in the east and now at our new housing development at Abersoch in the west, on the Llyn Peninsular. We are also developing new homes in Holyhead to add to the other housing stock we have on the island. All our homes are decent, modern and energy efficient and we aim to make them safer, cleaner and greener over the next few years.

Our homes are designed to offer as much choice to as possible to mixed communities, including family homes and homes for couples and single people. We also offer options for people who are over 55 or who need more support as they get older by offering minimal support at our three sheltered housing schemes. We also offer independent living to older people at our extra care scheme in Llanfairfechan where we can offer as much or as little support as you need, when you need it. In 2011 we will start building homes for sale to people over 55 at Abbey Road, Llandudno and a further extra care scheme at Abergele.

Our Supported Housing team offers assistance to a wide range of people from our communities who have specific support needs. These needs are met through our Hostels, supported housing units and through outreach services where our clients may not be one of our tenants but where we can offer support and advice.

We provide homes and services to over 2,300 households, and employ over 130 dedicated people across the organisation.

We have an annual turnover of around £9 million, with governance provided through a voluntary Board of Management, at least 25% of whom are tenants. Chief Executive, Paul Diggory, leads an experienced Corporate Management Team.

Our values are centred on people and reflect an engaged and highly enthusiastic workforce. We like to engage with residents and other stakeholders to ensure that their views influence what we do. This in turn helps to improve the level and value of our services year on year.
